AS2550.10 on your stock picker or order picker.

AS2550.10 on your stock picker (or order picker) refers to the Australian Standard and New Zealand for the safe use of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs).

Specifically, it is the standard that outlines the mandatory requirements for operating, maintaining, inspecting, and training personnel on machines that elevate workers, such as stock pickers, scissor lifts, and boom lifts.

Here is what it means for your machine:

It’s a Safety Standard: Compliance with AS2550.10 is required to ensure the machine is used safely and to minimise risks.

Maintenance & Inspection: The standard mandates that your stock picker must have regular inspections, including:

Pre-operational checks: Daily inspection by the operator.

Routine inspections: Carried out every 3 months.

MEWP COF: Carried out every 6 months by a trained EWP Technician

Major Inspections: Required at 10 years and then every 5 years.

Safe Operation: It provides rules on where and how the stock picker can be used, including surface stability, wind speed limitations (if used outdoors), and operating around electrical hazards.

Logbooks & Records: You must keep accurate records of maintenance and inspections to prove compliance.

If you are operating the machine in Australia or New Zealand, this standard is essentially the "rule book" for its safe operation and compliance with OHS/WHS regulations.
